INTERNSHIP - ACCESSIBILITY ANALYSIS
CONTEXT
> First year of Master's thesis
Study and research work, linked to scientific litterature
I had the chance to analyse the accessibility of Open Bee’s software during summer 2025. Open Bee is specialized in electronic data management, and would like to be usable for every users.
A report and ways to improve have been provided, according to the french digital accessibility reference framework. It was not only a analysis work, but also a social one : I was in touch with every member of the team to know the implicit frictions and clients data. Thanks to this opportunity, I discovered the methodology of an audit.performance on a shorter time, and there are reasons to it.
As specified above, i gave two feedbacks to the company : a state of what’s wrong, and plans to act over it.
1 - WHAT'S WRONG?
After having checked each conformity criteria (according to their applicability), Open Bee scores only 30,98%. To validate this result, I created a spreadsheet with proofs of conformity/non conformity, with commentaries associated.
2- ACTION PLANS
I spend the second half of the internship searching 3 differents ways to correct this low score. These 3 axes highlighted optimisation, generalisation and suggestion. As an UX designer, the suggestion plan was advised as it concerned directly data of users feedbacks (spreadsheet above).
> A quick look on the reports and tools
Each report have a problematic and a contextualization. Indeed, these documents is a ressource for an entire developpment team, so the feedbacks must be understandable for all-type profiles.
To provide a better step back, a user flow of the software as been created in Figma. Thanks to it, I was able to determine the tree structure and the average interaction per screen.
